 4 stars! :) I really liked it but well, I do understand what Mitch's been saying that it's melodramatic affair. And I agree. But since I'm a girl, I like melodramatic stories from time to time.

I started early but I still end up finishing it slowly. With all the dramas I've been into and didn't got to read the whole day of Sunday and Monday... It's a valid excuse. :P

Surprisingly, I now realize that I really don't give a damn about the paranormal stuffs in this book. I was more into it because of the romance between Trey and Aurora, and the music. It's like the vamp part was just some minor stuff and not really about it. LOL.

SWEET BABY JESUS. Daemon just made me swooning, gushing, drooling and melting over him! He is so much better in this book! I love it! I don't even know what to say. I would just swoon over him and gushing it all out or whatever. This is seriously good! Crap. I'm babbling.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I just finished this book and all I could do was sigh deeply. I feel like there's something heavy in my chest. >_<

You know, Andrew Fukuda didn't say what this 'people' - for the lack of better or right word - are called. They are not exactly vampires as one might think because of the blood sucking or whatnot. And they are certainly not zombies just because they eat flesh. So what to call them? Predators? Yeah, maybe. Okay, I'll just use that word.

WHOA. Just. WHOA.

When I first pick this book up, I was praying that the English used in here is not Old English cause if it was, I'll probably just put this off my list. Second, I didn't read the summary. I just picked it blindly cause some friends convinced me to read it with them. But well, as you all know, I was sick for almost two days that's why I haven't finished this sooner.

I was glad that they made me read this book! Celaena (I pronounced it as Selena. >_<) was a kick-ass assassin. Soooo... From the first part, I was waiting for her to be like one. I mean, I want to see some of her kick-ass assassin skills. I'm kinda disappointed that I haven't seen it in actual work. BUT the author makes it up with me with all those action scenes.

I started grinning whenever Celaena interacted with Chaol, the Captain of the Guard, and Dorian, the Crown Prince. I like how Celaena didn't give up and just escape from the castle, how she made friends - to Nox, Pelor and Nehemia. I really really really like her guts. She was told by Chaol to lie low cause people didn't know that she's the famous assassin, Celaena Sardothien. And when she was fed up with the guys taunting her, I like how she kicked ass of her sparring partner in just a numbered moves.

I really wish that Chaol would have his chance on Celaena in the next book. Cause I totally root for them even though Dorian made me smile too. I just love Chaol's and Celaena's chemistry better than Dorian's.

I kept remembering Hunger Games while reading it. Maybe because of the part of 'games' to be the King's Champion. Well, anyway, that's just the resemblance. :) So surely, The Hunger Games fans would love this one too.

And... And... I just really really liked it. I couldn't explain myself clearly. LOL. I'm on Team Chaol by the way. ;) Giving it 4.5 stars.
